We provide both breakdown support as well as on going maintenance. On-going maintenance is essential to get the best possible reliability, performance and productivity from your equipment. We can provide the maintenance package that best suits your particular needs.

Customer Support Agreements

We take care of your equipment You take care of your business! Time spent keeping track of your equipment’s service schedules, doing regular maintenance and repairs is time not spent taking care of your business. With a fixed price, tailor made Customer Support Agreement, you can leave the routine to McCormick Macnaughton and instead spend the time more profitably. When you include the savings in tooling, workshop and fitter expenses, a CSA costs much less than you may think. We can offer agreements in both Preventative Maintenance and also Total Repair and Maintenance.Your agreement may include as many or as few machines as you wish. There are no pre-set requirements or specific products and services that you must buy. Depending on your needs, your cost can be a flat rate per month or some other arrangement based on actual production hours or per service. Our Product Support Sales Representatives will be happy to work with you to determine the best strategies to maximise productivity and minimise costs.

Preventative Maintenance

With a PM contract, we will take responsibility for all maintenance on a specified machine based on service intervals prescribed in the Operations and Maintenance handbook. The contract covers all parts and associated labour and travel costs. Alternatively, it may suit the customer to look after the smaller 250 hr services while we will take care of the larger 500, 1000 and 2000 hour services only.

Preventative Maintenance keeps costs down by reducing the likelihood of machine failure, maintaining machine efficiency and optimising resale value. It also gives you the flexibility of arranging repair schedules and avoids or reduces labour overtime charges.

Obviously, prevention is far better than cure.

Total Repair and Maintenance

Total Repair and Maintenance Contracts provide complete cover for new Caterpillar machines, placing all responsibility in the hands of McCormick Macnaughton for maintenance and in contrast to a PM contract, repair of the specified machine.

You may choose a contract for example over 6,000 or 10,000 hours or for a corresponding time period. Charges may be on an hourly basis, monthly etc. Repairs carried out as part of a contract will only use genuine Cat parts. Work is carried out by fully trained and experienced service engineers.

TR&M contracts can make a powerful contribution to operational efficiency and cost control and has the added benefit of allowing you to budget exactly, your machine costs for the forthcoming years.

Scheduled Oil Sampling

A Core element of every service contract is Scheduled Oil Sampling or SOS. SOS uses advance laboratory equipment to analyse fluids and reveal vital component wear before failure. It is an inexpensive early warning system which means any part can be replaced at a time that suits the customer, and not as a result of an expensive and unforeseen failure.

Brake Testing

Many serious accidents occur as a result of defective brakes. Regular brake testing will identify deteriorating brakes before an accident occurs. McCormick Macnaughton offers a brake testing service which allows operators to carry out on-site testing using accurate up to date testing equipment which complies with Health and Safety Regulation ISO 3450 (Earth-moving machinery – Braking systems of rubber tyred machines). A quotation for this service can be drawn up based on the number of machines at a particular location.

McCormick Macnaughton Customer Support department is proud to offer the latest hydraulics services.

At McCormick Macnaughton we’re committed to resealing cylinders right. That means using proper disassembly and assembly procedures, honing cylinder tubes, practicing contamination control, and installing the industry’s best hydraulic seals, we even check for other problems – such as dented or scored rods – before pressure testing each resealed cylinder.

There’s a lot more to resealing hydraulic cylinders than just installing new seals. Find out how we can help you keep your costs low and your cylinders performing at peak efficiency.
