  • Waste - Scrapers

Scrapers Cat wheeled tractor scrapers are a tremendous productivity tool in landfill cell construction. Their ability to cut, haul and unload in one cycle makes them efficient on short hauls. A wheeled tractor scraper is well suited to climbing steep grades out of a landfill cell and traversing poor underfoot clay, sand and moist soil terrain. The wheeled tractor scraper will cut and load a wide variety of materials, a useful characteristic when cell construction encounters a sand, soil or clay seam.

637E - Scraper Caterpillar offers 5 configurations of scrapers: tandem-engine push/pulls, tandem engine, standard open-bowl, elevator and auger scrapers. The 631EII through the 657E models are equipped with engines using HEUI (pronounced Hooey) fuel systems for better engine economy and power output. Caterpillar equips its Wheeled Tractor Scrapers with both eight-speed semi-automatic power shift and six-speed full power shift transmissions. Caterpillar's Wheeled Tractor Scrapers are also equipped with a locking differential that is operator controlled and rigidly connects both tractor drive wheels for positive traction. By reducing the potential for wheel slippage, Cat machines produce less wear and better fuel economy. A cushion hitch on the 621F through the 657E models absorbs haul road shocks, stabilising the machine during travel and allowing the operator to run the machine confidently at higher speeds. A hydraulic retarder, optional on all but the 651E and 657E where it is standard equipment, further contributes to operator confidence and therefore site productivity.
